move cursor over thumbnails to enlarge Schools Projects BURGHCLERE PRIMARY SCHOOL Burghclere, Hampshire Project Information "MUSIC" WALL MOSAIC Commissioned by Hampshire County Council and Burghclere Primary School Theme: Music Age: 6-11 years Time: 1 day design, 4 days workshops + installation & preparation As part of a wider redevelopment scheme, parts of the playground have been reworked and replanted and a bandstand was built for the schoolÕs brass band. To enhance the developments, the school was looking to create artwork with a musical theme. A design day was set up prior to workshops starting, where the children were guided through a musical design session. Each child produced a drawing which influenced the final design. In the workshops that took place at the school, the children learned how to put a mosaic together and helped to create the final piece. The artists of MOSAIC ART then installed the mosaic onto a playground wall facing the bandstand, complementing the new structures and planting.
