move cursor over thumbnails to enlarge Schools Projects ELMWOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL Norwood, London Project Information WALL MOSAIC Design Inspiration: Local habitats and animals Age: 5-10 years Time: 5 days of workshops + 2 days prep + 2 days installation Location: created on mesh, installed on exterior school wall The designs came from studies of their surrounding local habitats and were put together to make up the overall design, which was created to fit into the specific space offered by the outside walls of the school. This meant incorporating large windows and the spaces in between. Workshops were set up in a dedicated room and children came in groups of 8 to learn about mosaic and help create the artwork. The final piece was installed at the front of the school, directly onto the wall and grouted to create a permanent piece of colourful artwork.
