Mosaic Benches Project
Design Inspiration: a trip to Kew Gardens
Age: 7-10 year olds from local primary schools, 11-16 year olds and teachers from Teddington and adults from the local community
Teddington has specialist status as an arts school and was looking to bring arts workshops to the wider community. The designs came from year 10 sketches after a trip to Kew Gardens. Workshops were held at the school and local primary schools were invited to take part. Older participants were encouraged to work with younger participants and 2 family learning sessions sponsored by Richmond allowed adults to take part as well. The mosaic was installed on benches at the front of the school with the help of volunteers.
Time: 9 days of workshops and 5 days of preparation and installation time.
