move cursor over thumbnails to enlarge Community Projects THESSALY COMMUNITY MOSAIC (2004) Project Information THESSALY COMMUNITY MOSAIC (2004) Battersea, London, U.K. Design Inspiration: Safety in the Community Local children collaborated to create mosaic artwork for the games room in their new community centre. In the design workshops they considered what made them feel unsafe or safe in their local environment and produced drawings, which were then used to put together an overall design. They then learnt the basic skills of mosaicing and how to cut tiles to shape safely. All enjoyed putting their newly acquired skills into practice and watch their designs come alive as mosaics.
